Dear AVA Commission,

We are now accepting proposals for both Practical Day and Congress sessions for ICAR 2025, taking place in Jackson, Wyoming, USA. If you have an idea for a presentation, please submit your proposal to avalanche.rescue@alpine-rescue.org by July 15th. All submissions will be carefully considered as we develop the schedule for our 3–4 days together.

If you're unsure whether you’d like to present, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to discuss your ideas.

For those interested in presenting during the all-commission sessions on Saturday, please consider aligning your topic with this year’s congress theme:

Increasing the safety of our trainings and rescue operations through:

  • Operational communication as an essential safety element

  • Registration of safety deviations

  • Root cause analysis of safety deviations

  • Recognizing a problematic team culture that leads to unnecessary risk

Additional safety topics we encourage submissions on include:

  • Data protection during operations

  • Managing the appearance of rescue operation photos/videos in the media

You are not required to follow the theme for AVA-specific presentations, and we welcome your ideas on any relevant topic.

When submitting your proposal, please include the following information:
