Former Delegate to our Alpine Emergency Medicine Commission

Dear friends ,

it is with great sadness that I pass on the news to you of the recent passing away of one of our former delegate to the Alpine Emergency Medicine Commission of ICAR: 

Walter Phleps who passed away on 20.12.2025 aged 77 after having lost the fight against a brain tumor. 
 
Walter was a prominent member of the MEDCOM and strongly participated in the formation of our commission as well as the development of mountain emergency medicine in Austria, his home country, in the nineties and beyond.

Rest in peace dear Walter and thank you for your contributions to ICAR and the world of mountain emergency medicine.
