NEWS FROM THE ICAR INTERDISCIPLINARY DRONE WORKGROUP - IDWG

The ICAR Board has decided to bring back the IDWG under AIRCOM’s umbrella.

Under Nigel Harling’s leadership, this group will continue to support all ICAR commissions and will focus primarily on the safe use of drones in mountain and search and rescue scenarios. Additionally, the group will examine deconfliction between drones and aircraft, as well as between drones themselves, and how we communicate effectively in these environments.

The workgroup will recommend best practices, coordinate operations, and assess the capability and capacity of drone use within the rescue sector. Research and development will be key, alongside engagement with global drone regulators.

The Working Group will bring together subject matter experts from around the world and across the ICAR community to provide guidance and advice.
