Onboard Expands its Legacy

The Onboard brand has been synonymous with external load operations for decades, including human external cargo & long-line rescue. In 2024, Onboard Systems expanded its legacy by adding Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch (formerly Goodrich).

“Bringing hoist and hook brands under the Onboard Mission Systems umbrella was a perfect fit,” said Nick Demogines, Director of Business Development.

Since the acquisition, Onboard has opened a new Anaheim MRO, cutting turnaround times and targeting 45–60‑day overhauls by 2027.

Development continues for the Pegasus™ next‑generation hoist, featuring new tech, higher load capacity, and a modular LRU design. Pegasus™ has already been selected by Leonardo Helicopters as the AW139’s first next‑generation hoist.
